California registers biological disease control

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation has registered Regalia fungicide/bactericide from Davis, Calif.-based Marronie Bio Innovations.

The product is derived from an extract of giant knotweed.

It controls several diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, Botritis gray mold, early blight, late light, bacterial leaf spot, walnut blight and citrus canker, according to a news release.

The product meets the National Organic Program and is listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute.
